Punjab Youth Games 2026 to Include Disabled Athletes

The upcoming CM Punjab Youth Games 2026 will mark a significant milestone in promoting inclusive sports, with athletes with disabilities set to compete alongside students from schools, colleges, universities, non-formal education institutions, religious seminaries and private educational organizations across the province.

Initiative Announced by Director General Sports Punjab

Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi announced the initiative during a meeting at the National Hockey Stadium, where preparations for the mega event were reviewed in detail. Senior officials, including Director Administration Abid Shaukat and Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed, attended the meeting.

Over 77,000 Institutions to Participate

Qureshi revealed that more than 77,000 institutions will participate in the games, making it one of Punjab’s largest sporting events. Competitions will be held across multiple levels, including six sports at school level, 14 at college level and 19 disciplines at university level. He added that athletes in different age categories, including U-16, U-19 and U-25 groups, will compete according to eligibility rules.

Vision to Promote Sports Culture and Discover Talent

Highlighting the vision behind the event, Qureshi said the games aim to promote sports culture, discover young talent and create opportunities for future champions representing Punjab and Pakistan. The CM Punjab Youth Games 2026 are expected to attract more than five million male and female participants, establishing a new benchmark for youth sports development in the province.
