Pakistan’s squash team departed from Islamabad International Airport on Monday to participate in the 3rd Asian Doubles Squash Championships 2026, set to be held in Sarawak, Malaysia, from June 18 to 21.
Team Leadership and Composition
The national contingent is being led by Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) Secretary Air Commodore (R) Amir Nawaz, while Fahim Gul will accompany the squad as head coach. Pakistan will field two teams in the prestigious continental event as it seeks to build on its impressive performance from last year’s championship.
First Team
The first team comprises reigning U-23 World Junior Champion Noor Zaman and seasoned campaigner Nasir Iqbal, one of Pakistan’s most experienced and accomplished players on the international circuit.
Second Team
The second team features 2023 World Junior Champion Hamza Khan alongside experienced professional Muhammad Asim Khan, forming another formidable pairing capable of challenging for top honours.
Strategic Blend of Youth and Experience
The participation of two world junior champions underlines Pakistan’s growing strength in squash and reflects the federation’s commitment to blending youthful talent with experienced campaigners in major international competitions.
Confidence from Past Performance
Pakistan heads into the championship with confidence after an impressive showing at the 2nd Asian Doubles Squash Championships in 2025, also held in Sarawak, where the country secured a silver medal despite fielding only one team.
