PNCA hosts mobile journalism training for youth tourism video

A one-day training workshop on mobile journalism, digital storytelling and documentary filmmaking was organized at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in Islamabad, under the National Youth Mobile Travel & Tourism Videography Competition 2026.

Workshop Participants and Objectives

The training brought together 60 young participants from across Pakistan, providing them with practical skills and knowledge to create compelling tourism content using smartphones. The initiative sought to empower emerging storytellers to document and promote Pakistan's rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, tourism infrastructure, natural beauty and human-centered narratives through innovative digital media.

Organized by PTDC

Organized by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), the workshop combined expert instruction with hands-on learning opportunities. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of mobile documentary filmmaking, including topic selection and historical research, mobile cinematography for heritage documentation, ethical tourism practices, sound recording and interview techniques, editing short documentary films, voice-over production, music integration, and content optimization for digital platforms.

Expert Training Curriculum

The training curriculum was developed and delivered by experts in digital content creation, drawing upon their extensive experience in media development, digital storytelling, journalism training, and strategic communications. The workshop combined theoretical learning with practical demonstrations, enabling participants to understand how compelling tourism narratives can be created using accessible mobile technologies.
