COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) and the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) have formalized a strategic partnership to strengthen professional capacity in Pakistan’s public procurement sector through the development of specialized certificate and diploma programmes.
Memorandum of Understanding Signed
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at CUI’s Islamabad Campus by Mr. Hasnat Ahmad Qureshi, Managing Director, PPRA, and Dr. Faheem A. Qureshi, Registrar, COMSATS University Islamabad. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, Rector, CUI, and attended by senior officials from both institutions.
Programme Details and Focus Areas
Under the agreement, CUI and PPRA will jointly design and deliver professional training programmes, including short certificate courses and diploma qualifications. The programmes will focus on public procurement systems, contract management, regulatory compliance, transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government procurement.
Addressing the Need for Trained Professionals
The initiative aims to address the growing need for formally trained procurement professionals in Pakistan. The programmes will be open to government officials, procurement practitioners, and university students, providing them with both academic knowledge and practical skills required for effective procurement management.
