Mardan – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Revenue Tariq Mahmood Aryani, accompanied by Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Zahir Shah Khan and Deputy Commissioner Mardan, conducted a surprise inspection of the Tehsil office, Service Delivery Centre (SDC) Mardan, and the Revenue Secretariat Mardan. During the visit, the minister reviewed the services offered to the public, examined revenue records, and addressed the concerns of taxpayers. He interacted with citizens present at various offices, listening directly to their grievances and suggestions.
Minister Emphasizes Public-Centric Approach
Speaking on the occasion, Tariq Mahmood Aryani stated, “If you live among the people, you will be aware of the public problems, and practical steps can be taken to solve these problems.” He reiterated that providing relief to the public remains the government’s top priority, warning that corruption, delays in service delivery, and public complaints will not be tolerated in government offices.
Immediate Action Taken
In response to numerous complaints received from citizens during the visit, the Tehsildar of SDC Mardan was immediately removed from his post. An inquiry committee has been formed to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. The committee has been directed to submit its report after a detailed review of the allegations and complaints, ensuring that legal action is taken against those responsible.
Directives for Improvement
The Revenue Minister instructed concerned officers to take effective measures for the swift resolution of public issues, promote transparency, and enhance revenue services. These steps aim to strengthen citizens’ trust in government institutions.
