Saudi aid agency KSrelief has signed an executive program with a civil society organization to construct and renovate 13 schools in Yemen's Lahj and Al-Dhale governorates, benefiting 59,851 individuals. The agreement was formalized via videoconference by Ahmed Al-Baiz, assistant supervisor-general of operations and programs at KSrelief, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
Details of the School Project
Under the agreement, 13 primary and secondary schools located in rural and remote areas will receive new buildings and upgraded facilities. The project includes over 45 fully equipped classrooms aimed at reducing disruptions and overcrowding among both male and female students. This initiative extends Saudi Arabia's humanitarian efforts through KSrelief to support education in Yemen, where more than 1,200 educational facilities have already been assisted.
Vocational Training for Women
In a parallel effort, KSrelief distributed vocational training kits to 25 women in Al-Mukalla, Hadramout governorate. These kits are designed to help reintegrate women into society and support small-business ownership. The training covers fields such as food processing, tailoring, and handicrafts, enabling women to earn sustainable incomes and support their families. This project underscores the Kingdom's commitment to empowering Yemeni women and promoting sustainable development through humanitarian aid.
