Lahore Qalandars have taken another significant step in strengthening grassroots cricket development in Pakistan by entering into a strategic partnership with Muslim Hands Pakistan, aimed at creating greater opportunities for young and aspiring cricketers across the country.
MoU Signed for Youth Development and Community Empowerment
The two organisations recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote youth development, community empowerment and sporting excellence through a collaborative initiative that combines cricket development with social welfare. At the heart of the partnership is the jointly operated Muslim Hands Qalandars High Performance Centre in Wazirabad, a state-of-the-art facility designed to identify, train and nurture emerging cricket talent.
The centre will provide structured coaching programmes, professional mentorship and high-performance training opportunities to promising young players seeking to advance their cricket careers.
Expertise and Commitment Combined
The initiative brings together Lahore Qalandars’ widely recognised expertise in talent scouting and player development with Muslim Hands Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to education, youth empowerment and community welfare. The partnership is expected to create a sustainable pathway for talented youngsters, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, to access quality cricket training and professional guidance.
As part of the programme, Lahore Qalandars will conduct transparent talent trials under their highly successful Player Development Program (PDP), an initiative that has earned widespread recognition for discovering and nurturing cricketing talent from remote and underserved regions of Pakistan. Through the PDP, aspiring cricketers will have access to professional coaches, modern training facilities and mentorship from experienced cricket professionals.
Strengthening Grassroots Reputation
The collaboration further strengthens Lahore Qalandars’ reputation as one of Pakistan’s most proactive cricket franchises in promoting grassroots development. Over the years, the franchise has invested heavily in identifying hidden talent and creating opportunities for young players who might otherwise remain unnoticed.
Officials from both organisations described the partnership as a shared commitment to empowering youth and creating positive change through sports. Beyond cricket development, the initiative seeks to inspire young people by providing them with opportunities, direction and a platform to pursue their ambitions both on and off the field.
High Performance Centre Inaugurated
The high-performance facility was formally inaugurated by Lahore Qalandars Chief Executive Officer and Owner Atif Rana in Wazirabad on January 23, 2026. The centre has since been designated as the Lahore Qalandars High Performance Centre, reinforcing the franchise's long-term vision of expanding its talent development network across Pakistan.
