NAWABSHAH: A tragic incident unfolded on Friday near Landhi bus stop in Nawabshah, where a university student and his brother lost their lives, while three other family members sustained injuries in a firing attack, police reported.
Details of the Incident
According to police, unidentified armed men opened fire on a car near Landhi bus stop, resulting in the immediate deaths of two brothers and injuries to three others. Police and rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene and transported the casualties to Peoples Medical College Hospital.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Arslan Jamali, a second-year BBA student at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, and his brother Sarmad Jamali. The injured, identified as Faisal Jamali, Saud Jamali, and Salman Jamali, are reported to be out of danger, according to hospital sources.
All victims belong to the same family and were residents of Khair Shah Goth, police said.
Possible Motive
Preliminary investigations suggest the attack was linked to an old enmity and a land dispute. Police revealed that a verbal altercation had occurred between the victims and a relative at the university a day earlier.
Officials stated that the victims were returning home after leaving the university when armed suspects, allegedly lying in wait, opened fire on their vehicle.
