PFA Raid Uncovers Illegal Ghee Production in Ahmadpur East
Bahawalpur: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted a raid on a house in Ahmadpur East tehsil of Bahawalpur district and confiscated a large quantity of cooking ghee made from animal fat. Official sources in the PFA Bahawalpur stated that during a major food safety operation, the PFA team, under the supervision of the Deputy Director Operations, raided an illegal fat-rendering unit in Ahmedpur East and exposed the production of ghee from animal fat.
The unit was allegedly engaged in melting animal fat and processing it into ghee for sale. During the raid, authorities recovered 432 kilograms of ghee and 160 kilograms of tallow fat. The recovered products were confiscated and destroyed on the spot to prevent their distribution in the market. A case has been registered against the owner of the unit, and one suspect was arrested during the operation.
