LAHORE - Punjab Police has significantly intensified its province-wide operation against proclaimed offenders, court absconders, and habitual criminals involved in serious crimes, resulting in the arrest of more than 76,000 proclaimed offenders during the current year.
Breakdown of Arrests
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the arrests include 20,611 Category-A and 55,437 Category-B proclaimed offenders. The ongoing crackdown has also led to the apprehension of over 18,000 court absconders, comprising 1,060 Category-A and more than 17,000 Category-B offenders. Additionally, police arrested 9,482 habitual criminals, including 3,473 Category-A and 6,009 Category-B offenders.
Arrests in Lahore
In Lahore alone, authorities apprehended 15,568 proclaimed offenders, 7,841 court absconders, and 3,590 habitual criminals.
IGP Punjab's Acknowledgment
Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem commended police teams for their performance in tracking and arresting wanted suspects. He directed officers to further intensify operations against criminal elements across the province.

This crackdown is part of a broader effort to enhance public safety and reduce crime rates. The police spokesperson emphasized that operations will continue with full force to ensure that all wanted criminals are brought to justice.
