LAHORE: Punjab Secretary Housing, Noorul Amin Mengal, conducted a visit to the Neela Gumbad underground parking project on Sunday to assess the pace of ongoing construction work. During the inspection, Director General of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Tahir Farooq and Chief Engineer of TIPA Iqrar Hussain provided a detailed briefing on the project's progress.
Project Completion Status
Officials reported that approximately 80% of the grey structure and 60% of the overall work has been completed. The piling stage has also been finalized, marking a significant milestone in the construction timeline. The project is expected to alleviate chronic parking shortages in the vicinity upon completion.
Security and Safety Directives
The secretary issued strict directives to ensure robust security arrangements at the construction site. He emphasized that no negligence regarding worker safety would be tolerated, underscoring the administration's commitment to maintaining high safety standards throughout the project.

Mengal highlighted that the project would not only resolve long-standing parking issues in the area but also restore the site's historical heritage to its original condition.
