Sindhi Language Learning Centre Inaugurated at Mirpurkhas Arts Council
Sindhi Language Centre Opens in Mirpurkhas

On the directives of Provincial Minister for Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, and fulfilling his announcement made during the restoration of the Mirpurkhas Arts Council, the Sindhi Language Authority has established a Sindhi Language Learning Centre at the council. The centre was formally inaugurated by Chairman of the Sindhi Language Authority Dr. Sher Maharani.

Inauguration Ceremony Attendees

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mirpurkhas Faisal Soomro, renowned scholar and writer Professor Makhmoor Bukhari, noted Urdu poet Naveed Surosh, Professor Masroor Chandio, Shaukat Chachar, Mujtaba Jokhio, along with teachers, students, and members of the literary, academic, and cultural community.

Dr. Sher Maharani's Remarks

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sher Maharani said that the Sindhi language is a symbol of Sindh’s identity, history, and rich cultural heritage. He stated that, in line with the vision of the Government of Sindh, Sindhi Language Learning Centers are being established across different parts of the province to provide quality opportunities for people interested in learning the Sindhi language. He further remarked that the newly established centre in Mirpurkhas will play a significant role in the promotion and preservation of the Sindhi language while introducing it to people belonging to different linguistic backgrounds. He added that such initiatives would strengthen the language and further promote literary, educational, and cultural engagement.

Additional Deputy Commissioner's Appreciation

Addressing the ceremony, Additional Deputy Commissioner Faisal Soomro appreciated the efforts of the Sindhi Language Authority and said that promoting the mother tongue is essential for preserving cultural identity and heritage.

Literary Figures' Support

Professor Makhmoor Bukhari and Urdu poet Naveed Surosh also expressed their views, describing the establishment of the Sindhi Language Learning Centre as a welcome initiative. They expressed confidence that the center would make a valuable contribution to the promotion and development of the Sindhi language.

Facilities and Conclusion

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the guests visited the facilities of the newly established center and appreciated the arrangements made for teaching and learning the Sindhi language.
