Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday expressed gratitude to overseas Pakistanis for sending higher remittances during the fiscal year 2025-26, describing the increase as a reflection of their confidence in the government's economic policies.

Record Remittances in FY2025-26

In a statement, the prime minister said overseas Pakistanis remitted $41.6 billion during FY2025-26, marking an 8.6% increase compared to the previous fiscal year (2024-25). He thanked the Pakistani diaspora for their continued support of the national economy, saying their contribution played a vital role in strengthening the country's financial stability.

Confidence in Government Policies

Prime Minister Shehbaz said the rise in remittances demonstrated the trust of overseas Pakistanis in the government's policies and economic direction. Describing overseas Pakistanis as the country's "valuable asset," he said the entire nation, including himself, was proud of their commitment and contributions to Pakistan's development.
