In compliance with the directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and in response to requests from the business community of Karachi, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has established and operationalized a PRAL Front Desk at the Large Taxpayers Office (LTO) in Karachi as of June 5, 2026. This desk is headed by a dedicated Chief (Inland Revenue Operations) and supported by a specialized team from Pakistan Revenue Automation Ltd (PRAL), equipped with the necessary IT infrastructure.
Purpose and Services
The front desk serves as a dedicated facilitation center for Karachi-based businesses, offering on-site technical assistance and ensuring timely resolution of issues related to IRIS, e-filing, registration, online tax payments, sales tax returns, refunds, and other digital tax services. This initiative is part of FBR's ongoing efforts to enhance taxpayer facilitation, improve service delivery, promote voluntary compliance, and ensure seamless access to digital tax systems.
Government Commitment
The establishment of this dedicated facilitation office reflects the government's commitment to leveraging technology for a more efficient, transparent, and responsive tax administration. It aims to address the specific needs of the business community in Karachi, streamlining tax processes and reducing bureaucratic hurdles.
This move is expected to significantly improve the taxpayer experience, encouraging voluntary compliance and fostering a more business-friendly environment in the country's economic hub.
