Pakistan Stock Exchange Witnesses Significant Bullish Turnaround

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a notable shift to a bullish trend on Tuesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 index recording a substantial gain. According to official PSX data, the index increased by 1,900.34 points, representing a positive change of 1.29 percent. This surge brought the closing level to 148,743.32 points, up from 146,842.97 points on the previous trading day.

Trading Activity and Market Performance Details

During the trading session, the ready market demonstrated robust activity, with a trading volume of 434.958 million shares and a traded value of Rs22.541 billion. This compares to the previous session, which saw 529.130 million shares traded, valued at Rs29.603 billion. The market capitalization also saw an uptick, rising to Rs16.534 trillion from Rs16.327 trillion a day earlier.

Top Gainers and Losers in the Market

The session featured significant movements among individual stocks. Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited emerged as a top gainer, increasing by Rs334.50 to close at Rs24,287.00. Similarly, Nestle Pakistan Limited gained Rs179.78, settling at Rs7,712.40. On the losing side, Premium Textile Mills Limited declined by Rs42.08 to close at Rs380.18, while Shield Corporation Limited fell by Rs28.81 to Rs900.76.

Futures Market Overview

In the futures market, turnover was recorded at 99.789 million shares with a traded value of Rs5.277 billion. This marks a decrease from the previous session, which had 109.897 million shares worth Rs7.123 billion. Out of 311 companies in the futures market, 260 recorded gains, while 51 declined, indicating a generally positive sentiment in this segment as well.
