Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has directed the resumption of Lebanese exports to the Kingdom, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Wednesday. This decision comes in light of the positive steps taken by the Lebanese government toward rebuilding state institutions, the achievements of specialized teams over the past year, and the cooperation shown by the Lebanese side along with its fulfillment of required commitments.
Request from Lebanese Leadership
The directive was issued following requests from Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, as stated by SPA. The decision was communicated to Salam during a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
Saudi Support for Lebanon
Prince Faisal affirmed the Kingdom’s support for Lebanon’s stability, sovereignty over all its territory, and the well-being of its people. He expressed confidence that Lebanon’s government will take all necessary measures to prevent the country from being used as a platform to harm regional nations.
Prime Minister Salam thanked Prince Mohammed and welcomed the decision, describing it as a reflection of the deep fraternal and historical relations between the two countries. He noted that the move demonstrates the Kingdom’s confidence in Lebanon and will help bolster the Lebanese economy by creating new opportunities for producers and exporters.
Salam also expressed hope for closer economic cooperation between Beirut and Riyadh and extended gratitude to Prince Faisal bin Farhan for his efforts in successfully concluding the issue.
