Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan stated on Thursday that the tragedy of Karbala remains a timeless symbol of sacrifice, steadfastness, and commitment to principle, providing enduring lessons for all humanity.
Tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA)
In a message issued on the occasion of Ashura, the minister paid tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions, describing their sacrifices in defence of truth and justice as one of the most significant chapters in Islamic history. He emphasized that the life and teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) continue to inspire people to uphold integrity, resist injustice, and remain steadfast in the face of adversity.
Message of Karbala
Mr. Jan added that the message of Karbala underscores the importance of preserving moral principles regardless of circumstances. He highlighted that the sacrifices made at Karbala reinforce the values of patience, unity, and perseverance, and stressed that adherence to these principles is essential for building a peaceful, stable, and prosperous society.
Call for Unity and Harmony
The minister emphasized the need to strengthen national unity, inter-sect harmony, and mutual respect during Muharram. He urged religious scholars, community leaders, and followers of all schools of thought to play a constructive role in promoting peace, tolerance, and social cohesion across the province. Mr. Jan called on citizens to work collectively to maintain law and order and uphold the spirit of harmony during Muharram.
