Candidates affected by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Board's decisions, including those seeking deceased quota and quota restoration benefits, have called on the provincial government to issue notifications for all pending cases before October 18, 2024. They argue that this step is essential to implement the rulings of the honorable courts.
Committee Chairman Speaks Out
Hamid Safi, Chairman of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Board Deceased and Quota Restoration Committee, stated that the governments of Sindh and Balochistan have already begun implementing court judgments from the Federal Constitutional Court and the Peshawar High Court by issuing the necessary notifications. In contrast, affected families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continue to face severe hardships and anxiety due to unnecessary delays.
Demands Align with Legal Provisions
Safi emphasized that the candidates' demands are fully consistent with constitutional provisions, legal requirements, and court rulings. He urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to act immediately and avoid further procrastination so that deserving candidates can receive their rightful benefits.
He further warned that if notifications are not issued by next week, the committee will stage a peaceful protest in front of the Chief Minister's House. Safi stressed that this is their constitutional and legal right, and they will pursue every lawful and democratic avenue to secure their rights.
