The Sindh Chief Minister's Secretariat has taken a significant step to improve public service delivery. According to an official circular, provincial ministers, advisors, and special assistants of the Sindh Government will now personally attend the Chief Minister Public Complaint Cell to listen to and address public grievances.
New Procedure for Complaint Resolution
As per the statement issued on Thursday, government representatives will be present at the Chief Minister Secretariat in Karachi during two time slots daily. In the morning session, one minister or special assistant will meet the public, while in the afternoon, another representative will hear complaints. This arrangement will continue for the next few weeks.
Objectives of the Initiative
The primary aim of this step is to ensure that citizens do not have to run from office to office to get their problems solved. By having ministers directly listen to complaints, the government intends to expedite the resolution process. The minister or advisor will listen to the grievance and issue instructions to the relevant department on the spot, ensuring immediate action.
This move comes amid reports that the government is also working to restore Rs7 billion in parliamentarian schemes funds, despite cuts in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). The initiative reflects the Sindh government's commitment to addressing public concerns efficiently.
