KARACHI – Ambassador of Greece to Pakistan, Irene Pochni, called on Pakistan Peoples Party leader and Member of the Sindh Assembly Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh at his residence on Saturday. The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, bilateral relations, investment opportunities, women empowerment, and ongoing development projects in Sindh.
Greek Ambassador Praises Sindh's Culture and Hospitality
The Greek Ambassador appreciated the hospitality, cultural diversity, and traditions of the people of Sindh, stating that the love, tolerance, and rich culture of the region had greatly impressed her. She emphasized the need to further strengthen relations between Pakistan and Greece and expressed a desire to enhance cooperation in various sectors.
Women Empowerment and Legislation
Ambassador Irene Pochni praised Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision for women empowerment and the legislation introduced in this regard. MPA Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh said that the PPP has always taken practical steps for the protection of women’s rights, their welfare, and empowerment, and that the party leadership remains committed to advancing this mission.
Investment and Development in Sindh
Imtiaz Shaikh highlighted that Sindh offers vast opportunities for local and foreign investors, and the provincial government is providing a conducive environment for investment. He further stated that, in line with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision, several development projects are being successfully implemented under public-private partnership initiatives, with their positive impact reaching the people.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing optimism about future collaboration and mutual growth.
