Knighthood for Idris Elba

Elba, 53, received his knighthood for his services to young people, particularly through his work in education and community development via the Elba Hope Foundation, which he established in 2022. The actor has longstanding ties with the King's Trust, formerly the Prince's Trust, which supported him in his youth when he joined the National Youth Music Theatre. He is also set to collaborate with King Charles on a documentary marking the charity's 50th anniversary.

Damehood for Meera Syal

Meera Syal was awarded a damehood for services to drama, literature, and charity. The actress and writer, known for Goodness Gracious Me and The Kumars at No. 42, has also been a long-time ambassador for the Alzheimer's Society, following her father's dementia diagnosis.
