Pakistan's Information Minister Reiterates Pahalgam Incident Was Indian False Flag Operation

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Wednesday strongly reiterated that the Pahalgam incident was a false flag operation orchestrated by India. Speaking to the media on the completion of one year since India's alleged 2025 Pahalgam false flag operation, the minister emphasized that India has utterly failed to substantiate its accusations against Pakistan even after an entire year has passed.

Anniversary Marks Hollow Mindset

Attaullah Tarar stated that April 22 marks the anniversary of this incident, which he described as a reflection of what he called a hollow and illogical mindset driven by false ego, arrogance, and greed. He elaborated that India's fundamental problem lies in its tendency to present internal matters as external issues and external matters as internal ones. For instance, he noted that terrorism is an internal matter for India, yet it is consistently portrayed as an external threat.

Similarly, the minister asserted that the Kashmir issue is an international and global matter, but India deliberately presents it as an internal issue. He criticized India's history of false flag operations, carried out through what he termed clumsy slogans, exposing what he called hollow thinking and deception.

Pakistan's Call for Inquiry and India's Refusal

The minister expressed sympathy and sorrow for the citizens who became victims of what he labeled Indian terrorism in Pahalgam. He highlighted that the Prime Minister of Pakistan openly called for an impartial and independent inquiry into the incident immediately after it occurred. "Our intentions were clear, and our resolve was firm. That is why Pakistan, with complete clarity, offered a neutral and fair inquiry at the international level," Tarar stated.

He pointed out that India's refusal to accept such an inquiry proved it was a false flag operation and that India has no credible response. To this day, India has been unable to provide any proof or evidence regarding the incident, according to the minister.

Suspicious Circumstances and International Scrutiny

Attaullah Tarar raised several questions about the Pahalgam incident. He mentioned that an FIR was registered within just 10 minutes of the event, suggesting the text was already prepared beforehand. He noted the police station was quite far from the site, making the timing surprising and questionable.

He added that not only international media but also Indian civil society, politicians, and think tanks have questioned how the incident occurred without adequate security, yet an FIR was registered so rapidly. Pakistan was blamed immediately without any proof, evidence, inquiry, or investigation, and when Pakistan called for an inquiry, India had no response, the minister asserted.

Criticism of Indian Media and Policies

The federal minister also criticized Indian media for creating a war-like atmosphere through what he described as propaganda, exaggeration, and misinformation. He expressed concern that India's institutions have become politicized and influenced by Hindutva ideology, leading to minorities being deprived of their rights and Muslims in India being targeted and denied basic rights.

Tarar reiterated Pakistan's stance that India uses terrorism as a state policy and has been involved in incidents internationally. He referenced cases involving Sikhs' killings in countries such as Canada and the United Kingdom, along with evidence of transnational repression. He noted Indian involvement with groups like the TTP 'Fitna al-Khawarij' and in incidents within Pakistan, including the Jaffer Express train incident and the Khuzdar bus incident.

Pakistan's Evidence and Commitment to Counter Terrorism

The minister stated that Pakistan regularly shares such evidence with the international community and media. He emphasized that Pakistan has submitted evidence of India's state-sponsored terrorism to the United Nations and other international organizations and remains fully committed to eliminating terrorism from the region.

Attaullah Tarar declared that Pakistan will not compromise on its honor or dignity and will take all necessary steps to eradicate terrorism. Referring to remarks by Indian military leadership regarding "Operation Sindoor," he said such statements amount to an admission of defeat. He warned that any misadventure by India would be met with a firm, decisive, and swift response from Pakistan.

Pride in Past Achievements and Current Stance

The minister recalled that Pakistan dealt India a humiliating defeat during the Marka-e-Haq in Operation Bunyan-Un-Marsoos, adding that the nation takes immense pride in this achievement. He affirmed that the Pakistani nation stands united with the Pakistan Armed Forces and reaffirmed the country's unwavering commitment to defending itself against any aggression.

Attaullah Tarar concluded by stating that Pakistan is striving for peace and has earned international respect due to the tireless efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. He asserted that India, due to its policies, is facing global isolation. The minister firmly stated that April 22 marks what he called the last false flag operation carried out by India in Pahalgam, asserting that Pakistan's robust response has effectively deterred any such future attempts.
