ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday received a telephone call from Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar. During the conversation, the two leaders discussed ongoing regional peace efforts and bilateral cooperation. According to an official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the discussion was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere.

Exchange of Greetings

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his greetings and best wishes to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, as well as to the people of Qatar. The Qatari Prime Minister reciprocated the sentiments, reflecting the close ties between the two nations.

Appreciation for Qatar's Support

During the discussion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep appreciation for Qatar’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the ongoing Gulf crisis. He informed his Qatari counterpart that the peace agreement had been finalized and was expected to be signed by the relevant parties in the near future. The Prime Minister highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to promoting dialogue and regional stability, emphasizing that sustained diplomatic engagement had helped bring the peace process to its final stage.

Qatar Praises Pakistan's Role

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman praised Pakistan’s role in advancing peace and paid tribute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their leadership and efforts in steering the diplomatic process forward. The Qatari Prime Minister reaffirmed Qatar’s support for Pakistan’s peace initiatives and expressed hope that the forthcoming agreement would pave the way for lasting peace, security, and stability across the region.

Invitation and Future Cooperation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also reiterated his invitation to the Amir of Qatar to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at the earliest opportunity, in line with previous understandings between the two countries’ leadership. The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact in the coming days as efforts continue toward the formal conclusion of the peace process.
