Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit China from May 23 to 25 for talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in key sectors, according to sources. During the visit, the prime minister is expected to hold meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. PM Shehbaz will also participate in events marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
Agreements and MoUs Expected
Sources indicated that several agreements and memorandums of understanding are likely to be signed on the occasion. These agreements are expected to cover a wide range of areas, further deepening the partnership between the two countries.
Focus on CPEC and Trade
Discussions during the visit are expected to focus on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), trade, investment, and broader bilateral cooperation. Both sides will explore ways to accelerate CPEC projects and enhance economic collaboration.
In a separate development, Bahrain announced the arrest of 41 individuals linked to an Iran-backed group, highlighting regional security concerns.
