Faisalabad police have intensified enforcement of the Tenancy Act, arresting more than 600 violators and registering 565 cases under the Tenant Registration Act during the current year 2026, according to police spokesman Tariq Jatt.
Campaign Directed by CPO Tanveer Hussain
The campaign was carried out on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain, who ordered strict implementation of tenancy laws across the district. Jatt stated that more than 600 suspects had been arrested for violating provisions of the Tenancy Act, while 565 criminal cases were registered against those flouting the Tenant Registration Act.
Strict legal action is being taken against both property owners and tenants who fail to complete mandatory tenant registration. Registration in the Police Tenant Registration System is a legal obligation for landlords and tenants, and no leniency will be shown to violators, Jatt added.
Tenant Registration System as Crime-Fighting Tool
CPO Tanveer Hussain said the Tenant Registration System has emerged as an effective tool in identifying and apprehending proclaimed offenders and other criminal elements. It also helps police maintain an updated record of residents for effective crime prevention and investigation.
Registration of all rental properties in police records has been made mandatory to curb the activities of criminals and anti-social elements. Hussain directed all Station House Officers (SHOs) to ensure comprehensive registration of tenants within their respective jurisdictions without exception.
Property Owners Urged to Register Tenants
The CPO urged property owners to complete tenant registration without delay through the Police App’s “Tenant Registration” facility. Strict action will continue against those violating the law to maintain peace and strengthen public security across the district.
