The Punjab government has initiated a significant administrative reshuffle, announcing a fresh wave of postings and transfers for several senior officers. This move comes on the heels of recent promotions within the provincial bureaucracy, signaling a strategic realignment of key personnel across various departments.
Key Promotions and New Appointments
Rizwana Naveed, who previously served as Additional Secretary for Human Rights, has been promoted to Grade 20. In her new capacity, she has been posted as a member of the Punjab Planning and Development Board.
In another major move, Fakhar-ul-Islam Dogar has been transferred from his role as Additional Secretary for Higher Education. He has now been appointed as the Director General of the Bahawalpur Development Authority.
Shahid Hasan Kalyani, the former Deputy Managing Director of the Punjab Health Foundation, has been posted as the new Director General of Auqaf Punjab.
Additional Significant Transfers
The reshuffle also includes several other key transfers. Sarfraz Ahmad Bajwa, a member of CMIT, has been transferred and posted as a member of the Punjab Revenue Authority.
Mohsin Abbas Shakir, previously a member of the P&D Board, has been transferred to become a member of CMIT.
Naveed Shehzad Mirza, who was an OSD (Officer on Special Duty), has now been posted as the Managing Director of the Punjab Seed Corporation.
Sadaf Zafar, the former Additional Secretary for Tourism, has been appointed as the Director General of PILAC (Punjab Institute of Language, Art and Culture).
Changes in Wildlife and Fisheries Departments
The administrative changes also impacted the wildlife and fisheries sectors. Muhammad Saleem Afzal, who served as Special Secretary for Wildlife, has been transferred and posted as the new Director General of Fisheries.
Concurrently, Tahir Zafar Abbasi has been appointed as the new Special Secretary of the Wildlife Department, filling the vacancy created by Afzal's transfer.
This comprehensive reshuffle is expected to bring fresh perspectives and administrative expertise to key developmental and service delivery departments across Punjab, potentially impacting governance and public service efficiency in the province.
