RPO Faisalabad Punishes Over 100 Police Officers for Corruption

FAISALABAD - Regional Police Officer Sohail Akhtar Sukhaira held an orderly room at the Police Lines Complex, where show-cause notices issued to more than 100 police officers and officials from across the region were reviewed. During the proceedings, the RPO imposed penalties on various officers and officials for corruption, poor performance, misuse of authority, negligence, and dereliction of duty.

Major Punishments Handed Down

Sub-Inspector Tariq Mahmood Naz, SHO Mamunkanjan, was dismissed from service, while one year of service of SI Mohsin Abbas, SHO Lundianwala, was forfeited. Similarly, orders were issued to forfeit two years of service each for Sub-Inspector Sajid Mahmood, SHO Nishatabad, and Sub-Inspector Adnan Mirza, Incharge Investigation City Jaranwala. Office Superintendent Gohar (Jhang) was denied promotion for one year due to lack of interest in official duties.

Accountability and Future Measures

The RPO stated that officers demonstrating good performance would be encouraged, while the process of accountability against those bringing disrepute to the department would continue. He warned that corrupt, incompetent, absentee employees and those misusing their authority should mend their ways. Sohail Akhtar Sukhaira further directed that complainants visiting police stations should be treated with courtesy and respect. He emphasized that there is no place in the police department for corrupt, ill-mannered, or disreputable employees, adding that serving the public and protecting their lives and property remain the police force’s top priorities.
