VEHARI - Deputy Commissioner Vehari Khalid Javed Goraya and District Police Officer Tasawar Iqbal jointly chaired separate meetings to emphasize foolproof security arrangements, improved public service delivery, and strict implementation of government performance targets.
Muharram-ul-Haram Preparations Reviewed
During the review of Muharram-ul-Haram preparations, the Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to ensure comprehensive arrangements for security, sanitation, medical facilities, route clearance, health camps, ambulances, and removal of encroachments along procession routes. He assured that every possible facility would be provided to mourners and strict compliance with the code of conduct would be ensured.
DPO Tasawar Iqbal stated that comprehensive security measures would be adopted for all Majalis and processions. He added that approved routes and timings would be monitored through Safe City cameras and other surveillance systems, and additional personnel would be deployed at sensitive locations to maintain law and order.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance & Development Muhammad Afzaal, Assistant Commissioner Vehari Anam Akram, Assistant Commissioner Mailsi Saad Bin Khalid, CEO Health Dr. Fahad Waheed, Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority Maha Saeed, XEN MEPCO Ammar Siddiqui, Civil Defence Officer Muhammad Raihan, Rescue officials, and license holders.
Review of KPIs and Public Service Delivery
In a separate review meeting, DC Khalid Javed Goraya directed all departments to improve their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure better public service delivery. He ordered authorities to keep street lights and filtration plants functional, strengthen cleanliness measures, remove encroachments, and eliminate wall chalking. He also warned that poor performance regarding KPIs would not be tolerated.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Babar Suleman, Assistant Commissioner Anam Akram, and officers of the concerned departments.
Tribute Paid to Mehdi Hassan
During the proceedings, tribute was paid to Shahenshah-e-Ghazal Mehdi Hassan, acknowledging his contributions to music.
