A Pakistan Army Aviation Mi-17 helicopter tragically crashed near Muzaffarabad on Wednesday during takeoff due to a technical fault, according to the military's media wing. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that there were no survivors, and all personnel onboard embraced martyrdom.
Immediate Response and Investigation
Rescue and recovery teams promptly arrived at the crash site. The ISPR stated that a board of inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact technical cause of the accident. The statement expressed deep grief from Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with all ranks of the Pakistan Army, over the tragic loss of precious lives. Heartfelt condolences were extended to the bereaved families.
Prime Minister's Condolences
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed deep sorrow and grief over the incident. He paid tribute to all personnel who were martyred, stating that the entire nation salutes the sacrifices of its brave soldiers. The Prime Minister prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and for patience and strength for their families during this difficult time.
