Suspect Killed in Police Encounter Near Gujar Khan

GUJAR KHAN – A man wanted in connection with the murder of a father and his teenage son was killed during an exchange of fire between police and armed suspects near Gujar Khan on Wednesday night, police reported.

Incident Details

According to SHO Gujar Khan Inspector Tayyab Baig, a police team was conducting routine checking at a picket on Buchial Road when three men on a motorcycle allegedly opened fire on the officers and fled. Police retaliated and launched a search operation in the surrounding area.

Body Recovered

During the search, officers recovered the body of a man later identified as Ghulam Rasool, a resident of Dariyal village. Police believe that Rasool was fatally hit by gunfire from his own accomplices during the exchange. The two other suspects managed to escape, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest them.

Wanted for Double Murder

Inspector Baig stated that the deceased was wanted in connection with the murder of Muhammad Javaid and his teenage son, Sabeel Javaid, who were shot dead in the Mahndar-Dariyal area last week. The SHO added that the suspect had a history of involvement in serious criminal activities and was wanted by police in multiple cases.

Police have shifted the body for legal formalities, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
