Jordan dispatched a convoy of 20 relief trucks to Lebanon on Thursday as part of its ongoing humanitarian support for the country. This marks the ninth aid convoy organized by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) in collaboration with the Jordan Armed Forces, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the World Food Programme, and the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.
Urgent Humanitarian Needs Addressed
Hussein Shibli, the JHCO’s secretary-general, stated that the convoy is traveling through the Syrian Arab Republic to address urgent humanitarian needs and support vulnerable communities in Lebanon. The aid aims to enhance living conditions and public health, according to the Jordan News Agency.
Conflict Displacement Crisis
The conflict between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah, which began in October 2023, has displaced more than 1 million people, primarily in southern Lebanon and the capital Beirut, following Israeli attacks.
