Maryam Nawaz praises anti-terror op, pays tribute to martyrs

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday commended the security forces for successfully carrying out an anti-terror operation in Basima district of Balochistan, resulting in the elimination of 14 terrorists. In a statement, the chief minister paid tribute to the security personnel for their professionalism and courage in conducting the operation.

She also hailed the bravery and sacrifice of Pakistan Army Lance Havaldar Muhammad Abbas, who embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorists. CM Maryam Nawaz expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathies with the family of Shaheed Muhammad Abbas and paid tribute to his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

She said the nation was proud of its martyrs and their invaluable services for the defence and security of the country. The CM said that the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces and law enforcement personnel in the fight against terrorism would always be remembered and honoured.

In a related development, PML-N leader Saad Rafique rejected claims of the party's rout in the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, asserting that the party performed well despite challenges. He emphasized that the party remains strong and committed to serving the people.
