CM Bugti: 100 Militants Surrender in Dera Bugti, Condemns Anti-Army Propaganda
100 Militants Surrender, Bugti Slams Anti-State Narratives

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has strongly condemned political elements he accuses of spreading false narratives against the Pakistan Armed Forces, while announcing a significant security development in the province.

Surrender of Militants in Dera Bugti

Addressing a press conference, CM Bugti revealed that 100 militants have surrendered their weapons in Dera Bugti. He described this move as a welcome and positive step towards peace. "The state is paramount. Those who surrender should be welcomed," Bugti stated. He clarified that these individuals were previously associated with terrorist organizations but have now recognized the authority of the state.

Bugti emphasized that such surrenders are crucial for reducing extremism in Balochistan. He provided a stark overview of the province's recent security challenges, noting that over the past year, 900 incidents occurred. These events resulted in the martyrdom of 205 security personnel and 280 civilians. In response, security forces killed 760 terrorists during various operations.

Condemnation of Anti-State Propaganda

The Chief Minister launched a sharp critique against certain political parties, accusing them of spreading anti-state propaganda. He pointed out a perceived hypocrisy, stating, "Some political parties are spreading anti-state propaganda, while their own children study abroad. Our state is more important than politics."

Bugti warned that discrediting the security forces ultimately strengthens the enemy's narrative. "This is not just the military’s war; it is a shared struggle of the entire Pakistani nation," he asserted, calling it a national responsibility for politicians to counter such harmful discourses. He reminded the public that during the events of May 9 and 10, the Pakistani nation thwarted Indian designs, and defaming state institutions during an insurgency is a dangerous act.

Regional Security Challenges and Call for Unity

Bugti highlighted that militancy in both Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan poses a serious security challenge. However, he expressed full confidence in the capabilities of the Pakistani military, describing it as organized, prepared, and capable of countering all threats. "The dream of imposing an extremist system is impossible in the presence of the nation and the armed forces," he declared.

The Chief Minister also addressed external factors, criticizing the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. He stated that Afghan authorities had assured the world under the Doha Agreement that their territory would not be used for terrorism, but the Taliban regime has violated this promise. This instability, he argued, provides militants with crucial logistical support.

Bugti concluded with a powerful appeal for national unity, drawing a historical analogy: "Just as Abu Jahl’s narrative was popular during the time of the Prophet, but the truth was with him, today the nation must stand with its forces to defeat the enemy’s propaganda." He lauded the nation's support, stating, "The entire nation stands with our brave security forces," and honored the sacrifices made, saying, "The martyrs are our pride."
