DC Vehari Chairs Key Meetings on Wheat and Dengue

Deputy Commissioner Imrana Touqeer has taken personal charge of multiple critical administrative initiatives across Vehari district, chairing high-level meetings that addressed wheat cultivation targets, dengue prevention measures, and ongoing operations against illegal oil units.

Wheat Cultivation and Dengue Prevention Directives

During a detailed session focused on agricultural priorities and public health, DC Imrana Touqeer issued clear directives to officials regarding the district's wheat production goals. She emphasized that the 452,000-acre wheat cultivation target must be completed by November 30 without any delays.

The DC stressed the importance of ensuring uninterrupted availability of fertilizers and quality seeds to farmers across the district. Simultaneously, she ordered enhanced dengue surveillance and awareness activities, specifically targeting commercial areas, educational institutions, and residential communities.

Crackdown on Illegal Operations

In a significant move against hazardous operations, the crackdown on illegal oil units continued under the DC's supervision. Machinery from two unlawful units in Chak 561/EB was confiscated during recent raids. Deputy Commissioner Touqeer described these unauthorized operations as serious threats to human lives and reaffirmed the administration's zero-tolerance policy toward such activities.

Additional Administrative Reviews

Meanwhile, ADC Finance Muzaffar Khan conducted a comprehensive review of the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) survey progress. He formulated a strategic plan to achieve survey targets within the designated timeframe and appealed for complete cooperation from the local trader community.

In separate proceedings, ADC General Ghulam Murtaza examined price control operations across Vehari. The review revealed that 176,295 inspections had been conducted, resulting in fines totaling Rs. 502,000 imposed on 116 violations. Magistrates received directions to increase daily inspections to effectively curb profiteering and protect consumers.

Vaccination Drive Progress

The district health department is actively implementing the measles-rubella vaccination campaign with an ambitious target of immunizing 458,575 children. Current reports indicate that over 182,000 children have already received vaccination. Deputy Commissioner Touqeer urged all parents to ensure timely immunization of children aged between six months and five years to achieve complete coverage.

These coordinated efforts demonstrate the district administration's comprehensive approach to addressing both developmental priorities and public welfare concerns simultaneously across Vehari.
