Murree Fully Prepared for New Year Tourist Influx

ISLAMABAD: The Murree administration has expressed full confidence in its readiness to host a large influx of tourists for the extended New Year weekend, ensuring all facilities are in place for a safe and celebratory experience.

Administration on High Alert for Tourist Safety

Deputy Commissioner Murree, Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, stated on Thursday that the district is fully prepared to welcome visitors. He highlighted that the preparations follow the directives of the Punjab Chief Minister and encompass comprehensive arrangements for security, accommodation, and entertainment.

Shirazi, in an exclusive conversation with a local news channel, revealed that by Thursday morning, around 5,000 tourist vehicles had already entered Murree smoothly. He anticipates even more arrivals as the festive weekend progresses.

Comprehensive Festive Arrangements in Place

The administration has activated a robust support system for visitors. Thirteen facilitation centers are currently operational to assist tourists. For security, police are closely monitoring key areas like Mall Road and GPO, while special tourist squads from Punjab have been deployed in the field.

To celebrate the occasion, fireworks displays will be held, and the Arts Council will host a special event. On the logistics front, the administration has ensured economical options for visitors:

  • Approximately 400 registered hotels and guest houses are offering reviewed, economical rates.
  • Parking fees have also been reassessed to be visitor-friendly.

"We are fully ready to welcome tourists to Murree with complete facilities, ensuring safety, comfort and a memorable festive experience," DC Shirazi reassured. He emphasized that emergency plans are established to relocate tourists to safe locations if needed.

Focus on Smooth and Enjoyable Visitor Experience

The official concluded by assuring the public that every aspect of the tourist experience has been considered. From the moment they arrive until they depart, the administration's goal is to provide a seamless visit.

"All arrangements, from security to accommodation and entertainment are in place to make the visit smooth and enjoyable," he stated, prioritizing both celebration and public safety for what is expected to be a bustling festive weekend in the hill station.
