Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Imrana Touqeer, the Vehari district witnessed a significant push on Wednesday across three critical fronts: urban development, public health, and environmental protection. These coordinated initiatives reflect a broader administrative effort to improve governance and public service delivery for local residents.
Digital Transformation for Housing Societies
In a major step towards modernizing real estate records, a key meeting was held in Vehari to review the digitalisation of private housing societies. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Babar Suleman chaired the session, where officials were briefed on the implementation of the project through the PLRA and Plus Project, as mandated by the Punjab government.
ADC Suleman emphasized that this digital shift is designed to bring multiple benefits to citizens. He stated that the new online, biometric-linked system will safeguard ownership rights and significantly reduce fraudulent practices. Furthermore, the platform will allow for the swift processing of essential services like property transfers and development approvals, making administrative interactions faster and more transparent for everyone involved.
Health Drive: Over 293,000 Children Vaccinated
Meanwhile, in Mailsi, the health sector reported impressive progress. CEO Health Dr. Fahad Waheed personally reviewed the ongoing Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign. Health officials presented data showing that 293,122 children had already received their vaccinations in just the first eight days of the drive.
With the campaign set to run until November 29, Dr. Waheed directed all health teams to exert maximum effort to achieve the ambitious district-wide target of 458,575 children. He also issued a urgent appeal to parents, encouraging them to ensure their children are vaccinated to protect them from the serious and potentially life-threatening complications associated with measles and rubella.
Intensified Crackdown on Smog
On the environmental front, the district administration launched a stricter anti-smog campaign on the direct instructions of DC Imrana Touqeer. A joint team led by Assistant Director EPA Qurat-ul-Ain and DSP Traffic Zafar-ul-Qudoos conducted inspections of numerous vehicles across Vehari.
This proactive enforcement led to fines totaling Rs. 8,000 being issued to four vehicle owners found to be in violation of emissions standards. AD EPA Qurat-ul-Ain made it clear that the department will maintain a zero-tolerance policy against smoke-emitting vehicles. She stressed that these continued actions are vital for protecting public health from hazardous pollutants and working towards a cleaner, healthier environment for the community.
These three distinct yet simultaneous actions demonstrate a comprehensive governance model being implemented in Vehari, focusing on digital innovation, proactive healthcare, and environmental accountability for the direct benefit of its citizens.
