KP Governor Kundi Compares Province's Situation to Adiala Jail
Governor Kundi: KP Situation Like Adiala Jail

Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, made a stark comparison on Saturday, stating the province's current environment has become "like Adiala Jail." He issued this grave assessment during a press conference held at Siyal House in Anwarabad, Larkana.

Allegations of Foreign Interference and Internal Disorder

Governor Kundi directly accused neighboring Afghanistan and India of continuing destabilizing activities within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He emphasized that undocumented Afghan nationals must regularize their status through proper visas and adhere to Pakistani laws concerning work, education, and healthcare.

Turning to domestic politics, the Governor launched a sharp critique against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He alleged the party is promoting disorder and has consistently engaged in what he termed a "politics of chaos." Indirectly referencing PTI's imprisoned leadership, Kundi suggested that relocating a "certain prisoner" from Adiala Jail could positively impact the province's political and security climate.

Calls for Security, Development, and Constitutional Loyalty

Kundi outlined several pressing needs for the province. He called for expanded security operations into more districts and stressed the urgency of exploiting KP's natural resources, including its oil, gas, and mineral reserves, for economic progress.

He also revealed that he urged veteran politician Mahmood Khan Achakzai to stand by the Constitution and contribute to peace, while questioning Achakzai's political alliance with PTI. The Governor took a firm stance against violence, claiming weapons had been used against state institutions not just in KP but also in Punjab and Sindh. "We will not negotiate with those who take up arms against Pakistan and its institutions," he declared, honoring the memory of the Army Public School attack victims.

Warning on Governor's Rule and Appeal for Stability

The Governor addressed the constitutional provision for governor's rule, noting that speculation about its imposition exists. He stated that the situation would improve if political actors stopped targeting state institutions and avoided staging sit-ins in Islamabad.

Kundi concluded by asserting that while the world sees business potential in Pakistan, the opposition is hindering the nation's advancement. The press conference was attended by Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Faisal Rathore and MPA Suhail Anwar Siyal.
