Officials identified two separate cases where individuals were trying to cross the border using forged manifests, which are documents required for travel authorization.
According to FIA officials stationed at Torkham, the arrested individuals were attempting to bypass the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) system to illegally enter Afghanistan. This method of using fake documents poses a serious threat to national security and immigration protocols.
Details of the Fraudulent Scheme
Initial investigations revealed that each suspect had paid Rs. 80,000 to obtain the fake travel manifests. The high cost indicates a sophisticated and organized network behind these illegal operations. Further probing uncovered the involvement of an agent identified as Mahmood, who is believed to be a key player in the fraudulent network facilitating such border crossings.
The FIA has emphasized that this case is part of a broader pattern of human trafficking and document forgery that they are actively combating. The suspects have been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) of the FIA in Peshawar for further legal proceedings and in-depth investigation.
