SCCI Applauds Launch of Peshawar Safe City Project to Enhance Security and Investment Climate
The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has warmly welcomed the official launch of the Peshawar Safe City Project, describing it as a crucial initiative aimed at bolstering security measures and revitalizing investor confidence throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In a detailed statement released on Wednesday, SCCI leadership expressed strong appreciation for this significant development.
Leadership Commends Government and Stakeholders for Advanced Security Measures
SCCI President Junaid Altaf, alongside Senior Vice President Muhammad Nadeem and Vice President Sabir Ahmad Bangash, praised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, local police forces, and all involved stakeholders for formally initiating the project. They highlighted that the Peshawar Safe City Project is equipped with state-of-the-art, AI-powered surveillance cameras and round-the-clock monitoring capabilities, which are expected to transform urban security in the region.
The chamber leaders emphasized that this initiative will play a pivotal role in ensuring the protection of life and property, creating a safer environment for all citizens, and addressing the long-standing security concerns that have plagued the local business community for years.
Improved Security Seen as Key to Economic Revival and Investment Growth
Junaid Altaf elaborated on the economic implications, stating that enhanced security is fundamental to restoring investor confidence and reviving business and commercial activities across the province. He noted that in recent years, capital flight has adversely affected economic growth and employment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, making such security upgrades even more critical.
Furthermore, Altaf revealed that the SCCI is actively collaborating with both provincial and federal governments to secure a special incentive package. This package aims to support the revival of local industries and promote diverse investment opportunities throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leveraging the improved security environment fostered by the Peshawar Safe City Project.
The chamber's endorsement underscores a collective optimism that this project will not only enhance public safety but also stimulate economic development, paving the way for a more prosperous and secure future in the region.
