RAWALPINDI -- Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry addressed a press conference on Wednesday, providing details of the recent terrorist incidents in Balochistan. He reported that 38 security officials were martyred and 54 terrorists were killed in the operations.

Three Major Terrorist Incidents in Four Days

At the outset of his press briefing, the DG ISPR noted that there have been “three major terrorist incidents” in the past four days. The first took place on July 4/July 5 when “Fitna al Khawarij terrorists attacked the innocent local population” in Hanna Urak, he said, adding that the residents fought back very valiantly and “forced those terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna Al Khwarij to flee”. “During that, four brave innocent citizens were martyred and six were injured,” Lt Gen Chaudhry said.

Ziarat Clearance Operation

In a subsequent operation in Ziarat, nine policemen were martyred and 15 terrorists were killed during the clearance operation. The DG ISPR praised the courage of the security forces and local population in confronting the terrorists.

Lt Gen Chaudhry expressed condolences to the families of the martyred security officials and citizens. He reiterated the resolve of the Pakistan Army to eliminate terrorism from the country. “The nation stands with its security forces in this war against terrorism,” he added.

The DG ISPR also highlighted that the recent attacks were orchestrated by hostile elements operating from across the border. He called for international cooperation to address the issue of state-sponsored terrorism.
