Production is underway alongside the famous Isle of Man TT event, with Hollywood star Brad Pitt spotted on the island as filming begins for a new motorcycle racing drama. The upcoming film, titled Isle of Man, is an Amazon MGM Studios production backed by Pitt's company Plan B. According to reports published on June 5, 2026, filming has been ongoing for roughly a week on the self-governing island located in the Irish Sea.
Timing Coincides with Iconic Race
The timing is particularly significant because production is taking place while the iconic Isle of Man TT motorcycle race is being held. This allows filmmakers to capture the atmosphere of one of the most famous motorsport events in the world. Although Pitt is not part of the film's main cast, he has been actively present on location as a producer. The project stars Channing Tatum and Eve Hewson, with direction from Reid Carolin. The screenplay was written by Carolin alongside Jason Keller and Bryan Johnson.
Pitt Engages with Fans and Riders
Reports indicate that Pitt spent time at the TT race grandstand and mingled with fans attending the event. He was also photographed with Italian rider Andrea Majola, who is competing during this year's race. According to a statement from Majola's team, Pitt remained around the rider's paddock area for an extended period to experience the atmosphere of the competition firsthand.
The Legendary Isle of Man TT
The Isle of Man TT has long been regarded as one of the most demanding and dangerous motorcycle races in the world. Dating back to the early 1900s, the event covers a 37.7-mile course across public roads, with riders reaching speeds of around 200 mph. The race's history and reputation appear central to the film's story, although specific plot details have not yet been revealed.
Cast and Companion Project
Beyond Tatum and Hewson, the reported cast includes Ciarán Hinds, May Calamawy, Ruaridh Mollica, and Éanna Hardwicke. The project forms part of a broader agreement between Amazon MGM Studios and the production team. In addition to the feature film, a behind-the-scenes documentary series titled The Greatest Race on Earth is also in development. That companion project was filmed during the 2024 Isle of Man TT and is expected to provide viewers with a closer look at the people, risks, and traditions surrounding the legendary event.
Release and Distribution
As for where audiences will eventually be able to watch the film, Isle of Man is being produced for Amazon MGM Studios and is expected to debut on Prime Video following its release. A premiere date has not yet been announced, but filming is now firmly underway, with Pitt helping oversee production while one of motorsport's most historic races unfolds around him.
