The two leaders exchanged views on the evolving Iran–US peace process, particularly the first round of high-level talks held in Burgenstock, which were facilitated through the joint mediation efforts of Pakistan and Qatar.
Mediation Framework
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar apprised the Chinese Foreign Minister that the recent diplomatic engagement had led to the establishment of a high-level committee mandated to oversee and coordinate the broader mediation framework under the Islamabad MoU. He noted that three dedicated working groups had been formed to focus on the nuclear issue, sanctions, and monitoring and dispute resolution mechanisms.
Timeline for Settlement
The objective is to facilitate a comprehensive settlement between the concerned parties within 60 days. Pakistan continues to play a proactive role in regional diplomacy, leveraging its ties with both the United States and Iran to foster dialogue.
