A high-level meeting involving senior Sindh government and police officials was held to review security challenges, strengthen law enforcement cooperation, and discuss measures to improve policing across the province. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Home Sindh Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Inspector General of Police Sindh Javed Alam Odho, Special Secretary Home Saeed Shaikh, DIG Faizullah Korejo, and Bilal Shaikh. Representatives of the United States Government and the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Bureau (INL) also joined the session virtually.
Focus on Riverine Areas
During the meeting, participants acknowledged the long-standing cooperation between the Sindh Government, Sindh Police, and the United States Government in supporting law enforcement initiatives and enhancing public safety. The discussion focused on security concerns in the riverine, or Katcha, areas, where authorities continue efforts to curb the activities of organised criminal groups operating in the region. Officials also reviewed ongoing operations and strategies for improving law and order in these challenging areas.
Adopting Modern Policing Methods
Participants emphasized the importance of adopting modern policing methods and strengthening operational capabilities. The meeting also highlighted the need to improve mobility, resources, and technological support to enhance the overall effectiveness of law enforcement agencies. The participants expressed their commitment to continued collaboration and capacity-building efforts to address evolving security challenges and improve public security across Sindh.
