President Signs Finance Bill 2026-27
President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday signed the Finance Bill 2026-27 after its passage by parliament, clearing the way for the federal budget to come into force from July 1 following its publication in the official gazette.
With the president's assent, the Finance Bill will now be sent to the Printing Corporation of Pakistan for publication in the official gazette. Once the gazette notification is issued, the Finance Act 2026-27 will formally come into effect, bringing the federal budget and all related fiscal measures into force at the start of the new financial year.
Budget Implementation Details
According to Ministry of Finance sources, implementation of the nearly Rs18.71 trillion federal budget for FY2026-27 will officially begin on July 1. All taxation measures, duty revisions and other fiscal provisions contained in the Finance Act will also take effect from the same date.
The Finance Act provides for a seven per cent increase in the salaries and pensions of government employees, while the revised tax and duty structure approved under the budget will also become applicable from July 1.
