In a tragic incident in Karachi, a 10-year-old boy was allegedly tortured to death by his father, who had separated from his wife. The Surjani Town police have arrested the father, Azhar Ali, and his brother, Sultan Ali, in connection with the murder.
Incident Details
The incident occurred at a house near Ali Waliullah Stadium in Surjani Sector 36. The body of the deceased child was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital via a Chhipa ambulance. Police identified the deceased as Haider Ali, son of Azhar Ali.
Police Statement
SHO Surjani Town Inspector Sohail Khaskheli said that the boy was allegedly tortured to death by his father. The suspect and his brother were arrested from the scene. According to police, Azhar Ali had divorced his wife, who hailed from Multan. After the divorce, she returned to Multan.
Child's Distress
Police revealed that Haider, distressed by frequent torture, had run away from his father's house two days earlier. He spent the night between Tuesday and Wednesday at Surjani Town police station, where he told the duty officer about his parents' divorce. The boy was later sent back to his father, where the fatal assault occurred.
