Additional Inspector General of Karachi Police Azad Khan visited the route of the main mourning procession of 8th Muharram-ul-haram on Wednesday to review security arrangements. The procession, which began at Nishter Park, follows traditional routes and will conclude at Hussainiyan Iranian Imam Bargah Kharadar.
Security Briefing and Inspection
According to a police spokesperson, Azad Khan was briefed on the security deployment for the main mourning procession at Numaish Chowrangi. He personally inspected security measures along the procession route and surrounding areas. The Additional IG directed officials to strictly implement the security plan.
“All officers should remain in the field, and any negligence will not be tolerated,” he said. He also instructed that all available resources be employed to maintain law and order during Muharram-ul-haram.
Comprehensive Security Plan
Azad Khan stated that Karachi Police is fully active to ensure the security of Muharram processions and majalis. He emphasized that a comprehensive security plan has been implemented to protect citizens’ lives and properties. The police are coordinating with other law enforcement agencies to ensure a peaceful environment.
