Punjab Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Kh Salman, has announced that the provincial government has implemented stringent security measures for the upcoming Eid and Muharram observances. In a statement issued on Friday, he emphasized that the safety of citizens is the top priority, and all necessary arrangements have been made to maintain law and order.
Deployment of Security Forces
Kh Salman revealed that thousands of police personnel will be deployed across the province, with a special focus on major cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Multan. The security plan includes the deployment of Elite Force, Rapid Response Force, and traffic police to ensure smooth movement and prevent any untoward incidents.
Surveillance and Monitoring
Advanced surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras and drone monitoring, will be utilized in sensitive areas. The minister stated that control rooms have been established to monitor the situation in real-time and coordinate with field officers. Additionally, search operations and intelligence-based targeted actions will continue to thwart any potential threats.
Kh Salman urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any suspicious activity. He also directed the district administrations to ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, especially during Muharram processions and Eid gatherings.
The government has also arranged for emergency services, including ambulances and fire brigades, to be on standby. The minister reiterated that no compromise will be made on security, and all resources are being utilized to protect the lives and property of the people.
