Peshawar: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi on Sunday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Fateh Khel police checkpost in Bannu, expressing profound grief over the loss of police personnel and reaffirming the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism.
Governor’s Condemnation
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi condemned the assault in the strongest terms, expressing deep sorrow over the martyrdom of police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty. He paid glowing tribute to the fallen officers, acknowledging their courage and sacrifice in defending the public. The Governor extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and assured them of the nation’s solidarity in their time of grief. He also prayed for the swift recovery of those injured in the attack.
Describing terrorists as enemies of peace and humanity, Mr Kundi said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police had been confronting terrorism with remarkable bravery. He emphasised that the sacrifices rendered by security personnel in the war against terrorism would not be in vain.
Chief Minister’s Response
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi also issued a strong condemnation of the attack on the Fateh Khel Police Station, terming it a cowardly act aimed at destabilising peace in the region. Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives, he offered prayers for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and the early recovery of those injured.
The Chief Minister directed the relevant authorities to ensure that the wounded receive the best possible medical treatment without delay. He stressed that the fight against terrorism was a collective national responsibility and should not be borne by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone. Reaffirming the provincial government’s unwavering support, he said all affected families would be fully assisted.
Mr Afridi commended the police force for its steadfast role on the front lines of the fight against militancy, stating that their sacrifices would be remembered and honoured. He reiterated the government’s firm commitment to eradicating the scourge of terrorism from the province, vowing that such acts of violence would not deter efforts to restore lasting peace.
