Minister Reviews Security of 9th Tazia Procession in Rohri
Sindh Provincial Minister for Home Affairs Zia Lanjar reviewed the security situation of the 9th Tazia procession in Rohri and later addressed the media. He was accompanied by Sindh Assembly Speaker Owais Shah, Kumail Shah, and other leaders. The minister confirmed that processions and majalis are being held peacefully across the province with law and order maintained.
Casualties in Rohri Procession: 4 Martyred, 14 Injured
In the Rohri procession, four mourners were martyred due to suffocation, while 14 others sustained minor injuries. Lanjar expressed condolences and assured that all necessary measures were taken to avoid such incidents.
Government Writ Fully Established in Kacha Area
“Government writ is 100% in the entire Kacha area. There is no area where government writ does not exist,” Lanjar stated. He acknowledged the presence of criminal elements in the Kacha area, but operations against them are ongoing. Under government policy, a development package for the Kacha area will bring improvement, he said.
Employment and Education Key to Long-Term Law and Order
The minister emphasized that until employment is provided to residents of Kacha, complete law and order cannot be established. He also noted that both children and adults in the area lack education, which remains a challenge.
Update on Priya Kumari Recovery
On the recovery of Priya Kumari, Lanjar said efforts are underway and the government stands shoulder to shoulder with the Hindu community. He confirmed that the dacoits suspected of keeping Priya Kumari have been killed.
Minister Rejects Reports of Lower Police Salaries in Sindh
Rejecting reports about police salaries, the minister said the impression that Sindh Police personnel receive lower salaries than Punjab Police is incorrect. He also noted that Punjab has rolled out a digital monitoring plan for Muharram.
