Sujawal police have arrested another accused in the high-profile murder case of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Culture Wing leader of Hyderabad Division, Rab Dino Jat. The case is registered under the Pakistan Penal Code 1860 and the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) 1997, officials said on Wednesday.
Arrest of Ramzan Jat
The suspect, identified as Ramzan son of Ari Jat, had fled after the incident. Acting on special instructions from SSP Sujawal Alina Rajpar, a dedicated team intensified the manhunt using modern technology, digital tracking, human intelligence, and targeted raids. “After escaping the scene, the accused remained at large. Our team pursued him through technical surveillance and ground operations, which led to his arrest,” a police spokesperson stated.
Previous Arrest and Ongoing Operations
This arrest marks another breakthrough in the case. Police said raid operations are ongoing at multiple locations to apprehend other fugitive suspects. The key accused, Ghulam Qadir Jat, had been arrested a couple of days earlier by Sujawal police. SSP Alina Rajpar commended the investigation team for the coordinated effort and directed them to ensure swift completion of legal proceedings against all accused.
Political Ramifications
The Rab Dino Jat murder case had also echoed in the Sindh Assembly during its previous sessions. The provincial assembly recently approved Rs270.5 billion demands for grants as the government defended its budget. Police have not disclosed further details about the arrested accused but claimed the hunt is on for other absconding suspects.
